Day 9 - Toronto to Paris

Yum Cha at Casa Imperial
This Chinese restaurant resides in a very traditional and stately building. There's an air of grandness and the food and service reflect it.

Siu Mai

Chargrilled squid - VERY tasty

Egg-white tart with bird's nest

After lunch, we went for a final shopping spree at Walmart - bought 2 pairs of shoes at $40 each. Good buy :)

YYZ
Toronto Pearson Airport is actually quite beautiful, but very very quiet for a major airport.

The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is quite new and it's quite a comfy lounge with good facilities and crappy food.

Flight 4: YYZ-CDG
  • Airline: Air Canada
  • Flight #: AC880
  • Plane: Airbus 330-300
  • Departure Time: 27/4/09, 20:45
  • Duration: 7.5 hrs
  • Seats: 3A and 4A
The seats are exactly the same as the last flight, but a lot newer. Mrs Chan still doesn't like the seats as her legs are not long enough to touch the ottoman, and the cracks between the cushion sections are too large. Sigh... but hey, any J seat beats any Y seat hands down. I find the seat OK, just narrower and not as good as Air NZ.

After the food at the lounge, I had zero expectation for the in-flight dinner. So we were pleasantly surprised that the food was more than decent.

Mrs Chan and her seat

Salmon infused with vodka. Not as good as Mrs Chan's vodka+beetroot infused salmon.

The Bordeaux merlot washed down very well with the veal + potato gratin.

Ice cream (Choc, vanilla bean, raspberry)
