Day 22 - Paris market

Angelina again
This time, take away. And the hot choc was A LOT cheaper for take away... around 4E. Same goodies.

Marche Bastille

Sunday market. This was similar to Provence’s markets, but nice to go there with Mrs Chan’s sister and brother-in-law. Bought some nice cherry tomatoes and strawberries.

Shopping spree
After the market, we went to La Vallee Village outlet shopping. A bit of a hike to get there (about 1 hour) and train was 5.50E pp each way. I think we made the most of the train tickets based on the amount of stuff (the girls) bought.

Dinner – Restaurant Christophe

This was another recommended restaurant, run by a couple. The man runs the kitchen, the woman runs the front of house. Quite amazing.

Entree – Smoked “Balik” salmon, scrambled eggs, pancake-like bread. Very good ingredients.

Main – Duck breast pan-fried, duck leg confit, served with pear sauce. Nicely done.

Dessert - Valrhona chocolate Moelleux. Why do I always choose a similar dessert?! Very nice, but not as perfect as the one at Au Bon Accueil.

I found the cooking well executed on the whole, but the balance of flavours could have been better. E.g. my neighbours main had a chunk of meat and polenta, and no veges. Desserts were rich, so would be nice to have something acidic to go with them.
In short – this is an "OK" restaurant and probably not worth returning.
